GILDING
We can apply 23.5 carat gold leaf to the cardinals (NSEW) or to any other part of the weathervane at extra cost. Gold leaf will glint in the sun, and remain bright for many years, unlike gold paint which is likely to turn dull and brown in a short space of time.
Nord/Sud/Ost/West or Nord/Sud/Est/Ouest
For French or German speaking countries we can offer NSOW or NSEO instead of NSEW. We can also offer NSOV for Denmark (the O with a slash through it)
OLD ENGLISH LETTERS
Most of the illustrations on this website depict cardinals in Times New Roman, but we also offer an alternative, Old English style, as below
HEAVYWEIGHT SCROLLS
The scrollwork under the letter arm on the majority of illustrations on this website is made from 12mm x 3mm mild steel. We also offer an alternative, heavier scroll made from 6mm square steel. This is available on medium and large, but not petite size weathervanes.
HAND COLOURING
Any weathervane can be hand coloured by our resident artist. For a price for any design not shown on this website, please contact us.
COMMISSIONS/NEW DESIGNS
We are constantly adding to our range of designs. If you would like a new design, please contact us. The procedure is as follows:
- We do not charge for design work if we think the new design would be a useful addition
to our range. Most, but not all, animals, birds, dogs, tractors etc. will fall in
to this category. Other ew designs will be charged for based on the amount of time
involved, but typically £100-
£150. Alterations to existing designs will be considered as if they were a new design and charged for accordingly. - We will prepare drawings and computer files on receipt of a firm order with delivery address and payment details (but remember we do not take payment until the order is ready for despatch). We will then send the drawing to you for approval before we commence manufacture. At this point you can make any minor adjustments you feel necessary. We can research any subject matter, or we can work from illustrations supplied by you.
